In the UK, National Statistics Office figures show that 11% of people in full-time employment are disabled and 17% in part-time employment. It is clear that many employers have already identified the significant contributions their disabled staff members make in the workplace.

However, disability charity Scope suggests that a 10% rise in the employment rate among disabled adults would contribute an extra £12bn to the UK economy by 2030. So clearly this is a significant under-utilized economic resource representing business and employment opportunities.

IFAC’s webinar, Ensuring Inclusion of People with Disabilities, motivated us to add to this discussion. I would advise businesses to learn more about disabilities, seize the opportunities and contribute more to society. We hope you enjoy our short video.
