At a time when many jurisdictions are questioning on the state of our accountancy profession, Korea's growth story illustrates a distinctive approach to attracting and retaining talent in the accountancy profession. The total revenue of accounting firms has roughly doubled from KRW 3.4 trillion to over KRW 6 trillion (approximately USD 4.3 billion) in six years. While numerous factors have contributed to this growth, there are three notable drivers—regulatory reform, gender diversity, and scope expansion—that offer insight into how the profession has sustained its momentum.

He is a Korean Certified Public Accountant (CPA) working in the Global Capital Markets and Accounting Advisory Services (CMAAS) department at Samil PwC.
