Mats Olsson, a Member of the IFAC Small and Medium Practices (SMP) Committee, discusses how SMPs can more broadly apply sound ethical principles in working with clients and managing their accounting practices. Among the advice Mats provides is for SMPs to assess all factors affecting their clients’ businesses from environmental impact to social responsibility to transportation choices. In their role as trusted advisors, accountants can guide their clients on making changes while still cutting costs, cooperating with other businesses, and focusing on improving cost efficiencies.
