With the popularization of generative AI tools in recent years, how to best implement and govern these tools has become an important part of the conversation about modern accounting practices. Artificial intelligence creates new opportunities and risks for professional accountants. In order to keep professional accountants and professional accountancy organizations informed of IFAC's library of content about AI, we've created this series page for easy access to our AI-related articles and resources.

We've curated content from IFAC and its network into five categories. First, because much of the conversation about artificial intelligence concerns what artificial intelligence is capable of doing, we've created a category looking specifically at how professional accountants are already using AI at this moment in time. We've also created categories for resources examining the capabilities of generative AI and analytical AI, as well as categories for risk & governance, AI in education, and the emerging topic of agentic AI. Because AI intersects with so many other conversations in accounting, many of these articles and resources are available in the other content categories on our site.
