Introduction

On 27 November 2025, Islamabad, Pakistan hosted an exceptional gathering of finance professionals, corporate leaders, and accounting delegates from across South Asia for the 2024 Best Presented Annual Report Awards, Integrated Reporting Awards, and SAARC Anniversary Awards for Corporate Governance Disclosures. Jointly organized by the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) ,the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP), and the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMA), the event underscored a renewed commitment to transparency, accountability, and high-quality corporate reporting in South Asia. It highlighted the growing importance of integrated reporting and sustainability disclosures in today’s evolving business environment.

The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests of honour, including:

• Mr. Muhammad Ali, Chairman, Privatization Commission of Pakistan
• Mr. Jean Bouquot, President, International Federation of Accountants (IFAC)
• Mr. Akif Saeed, Chairman, Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan
• Mr. Ashfaq Yousuf Tola, President, South Asian Federation of Accountants
• Mr. Heshana Kuruppu, Advisor, South Asian Federation of Accountants

Among these eminent dignitaries, the participation of the IFAC President, Mr. Jean Bouquot, was particularly significant, highlighting the international relevance of the SAFA Best Presented Annual Report Awards and reaffirming SAFA’s global recognition as a platform promoting transparency, governance, and excellence in corporate reporting across South Asia.
