Sidharta Utama joined the International Accounting Education Standards Board (IAESB) in January 2015. He was nominated by Ikatan Akuntan Indonesia (IAI).

Prof. Utama currently is a professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business University of Indonesia (FEUI).   He currently serves as a secretary of the Board of Trustees at the University of Indonesia, a member of the National Council of Ikatan Akuntan Indonesia,  a member of the Trustee Board - Indonesia Institute for Corporate Directorship, a member of the Board of Advisory for  Financial Accounting Policy of Bank Indonesia, an independent commissioner  and a member of audit committe in several publicly listed companies in Indonesia.

In the past, he has served in various positions at FEUI, including the head of the Department of Accounting and the vice dean on academics. He was a member of the Indonesian Financial Accounting Standard Board, the National Economic Committee, and the Tax Oversight Committee Ministry of Finance. His research interests currently is in the area of corporate governance.

He obtained his undergraduate degree majoring in accounting from FEUI, MBA degree majoring in finance and information system from Indiana University, and PhD degree majoring in accounting from Texas A&M university. He is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst.
