    Ms. Georgina Muchai is a Technical Advisor to CPA Jonah Wala, a member of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB) with effect from 1st January 2023 nominated by Public Sector Accounting Standards Board-Kenya.

    Ms. Muchai is currently the Director Accounting Standards at PSASB- Kenya. She previously worked as a technical advisor with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and as an auditor with Deloitte and Touche. She also serves as a member of the Professional Standards Committee of ICPAK and a member of the Technical Advisory Group on public value management at the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA).

    Ms. Muchai was, in 2020, awarded with a certificate of commendation by Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Kenya for the contribution made towards advancing the accountancy profession in Kenya.

    She has an MSC and a Degree in Finance from the University of Nairobi and Kenyatta University respectively. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of ICPAK.

  • Nor Yati Ahmad

    Nor Yati Ahmad became a member of the International Public Sector Accounting Standard Board in January 2023. She was nominated by Accountant General's Department of Malaysia under the Ministry of Finance, Malaysia. 

    She is currently the Accountant General of Malaysia, effective on 18 September 2023. Prior to that, she was Deputy Accountant General (Corporate) and has served in various departments in state and federal level in the last 28 years of service. Nor Yati Ahmad is a member of Malaysia Institute of Accountant (MIA) and Fellow Certified Practising Accountant (FCPA) Australia. Currently, she is a member of Government Accounting Standard Advisory Committee under the Accountant General's Department of Malaysia which issues Malaysian Public Sector Accounting Standard (MPSAS).

    She is also a member of Public Sector Accounting Committee of Malaysian Institute of Accountant, a member of Malaysian Accounting Standard Board (MASB), a Chairman of Islamic Accounting Standards Advisory Committee which issuing Islamic Accounting Standard for Baitulmal, Zakat and Waqf she also a board of director in a Malaysia's Government Link Company. She has been a member of various task based groups especially in accounting areas. Recently, she has been appointed as a Professor Adjunct at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia.

    She holds a Bachelor of Accounting from University Putra Malaysia and a Master of Accountancy and Finance from University of Adelaide.

    Technical Advisory for Nor Yati Ahmad

    Rasmimi Ramli is the technical advisor for the Malaysian IPSASB member, Mrs. Nor Yati Ahmad. She was nominated by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

    Rasmimi Ramli is Executive Director of Sustainability, Digital Economy and Reporting Division of MIA. She leads the sustainability, digital economy and reporting initiatives in the Institute. She is also responsible for risk management and customised learning functions in MIA. She is a member of the Government Accounting Standards Advisory Committee, a committee that develops the Malaysian Public Sector Accounting Standards (MPSAS) and a member of the Federal Statutory Bodies MPSAS Application Committee. She is also a member of the MFRS Application and Implementation Committee (MAIC) and she sits in various working groups and task forces of the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board (MASB). She was a technical advisor of the IPSASB from 2013 to 2015 and she provided technical assistance to the World Bank Group on IFRS transition projects. Prior to joining MIA, she spent 9 years in audit with major firms in the UK and Malaysia and was an internal auditor with Maxis Berhad.

    Rasmimi Ramli is a member of MIA and a fellow member of ACCA. She graduated from University of Wales, Cardiff, UK.

    Nor Yati Ahmad became a member of the International Public Sector Accounting Standard Board in January 2023. She was nominated by Accountant General's Department of Malaysia under the Ministry of Finance, Malaysia. 

    She is a director of Accrual Accounting Implementation Team, Accountant General's Department of Malaysia since 2020 and has been with Accrual Accounting Implementation Team from 2011. Before joining the team, she served as an accountant with 16 years of experience in federal and states level. Nor Yati Ahmad is a member of Malaysia Institute of Accountant (MIA) and CPA Australia. Currently, she is a member of Government Accounting Standard Advisory Committee under the Accountant General's Department of Malaysia which issues Malaysian Public Sector Accounting Standard (MPSAS). She also a member of Public Sector Accounting Committee of Malaysian Institute of Accountant, a representative of Accountant General's Department of Malaysia in Malaysian Accounting Standard Board (MASB), a member of Islamic Accounting Standard Research and Drafting Committee for Waqaf, Zakat and Baitulmal and she also a board of director in a Malaysia's Government Link Company. She has been a member of various task based groups especially in accounting areas.

  • Jonah Wala

    Jonah Wala joined the IPSASB as a member in January 2023. He was nominated by Public Sector Accounting Standards Board in Kenya.   

    Currently, he is leading teams in transitioning Kenya from cash to accrual accounting using as part of my responsibilities as Director of Accounting Services/ Accountant General at the National Treasury.  He sits on various public boards and councils in Kenya including the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya, Kenya Institute of Certified Financial Analysts of Kenya, Chuka University, and Kenya Law. He is the Registrar of the Certified Public Secretaries Board. 

    Mr. Wala has led teams in reviewing and developing laws, subsidiary regulations, and policies in the public sector fiscal management space, as well as the Public Finance Management Act, Public Audit Act, Accountants Act, and the Certified Public Secretaries Act. 

    He convenes the Technical Committee of the Africa Association of Accountant Generals, an association with a support mandate of public sector reforms in all 54 countries in Africa. He serves on the academic board of the Africa Professionalization Initiative developing competency content. He chaired the IFRS S2 Climate-related disclosures transition roadmap committee for Kenya. 

    Mr. Wala holds a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance and is pursuing a PhD in Management from the Case Western Reserve University, US. 

    His technical advisor is Georgina Muchai.
