Professor Chika Saka joined the IFAC International Panel on Accountancy Education in January 2024, nominated by the Japanese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (JICPA).

Prof. Saka is a professor of the School of Business Administration at Kwansei Gakuin University in Japan, a role she’s held since 2008. She has also held visiting research positions at the Australian National University (2003–2005), the University of California, Irvine (2016–2017), and Monash University (2022–2023).

Prof. Saka’s current professional roles include serving as an Expert Member of the Financial System Council, and member of the Sustainability Standards Board of Japan (SSBJ), the Business Accounting Council of the Financial Services Agency (FSA), and the Study Group on Visualization of Non‑Financial Information of the Cabinet Secretariat. She also serves on the JICPA Sustainability Capacity Building Council and JICPA Continuing Professional Development Council–Technical Committee on International Education Standards (IES).

Since 2005, she has been a member of the Science Council of Japan.
