CPA Prof. Elizabeth Nthambi Kalunda joined IPAE as a technical advisor in December 2025 representing Kenya.
Currently, she serves as the Chairman of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) for the 2025–
2027 term, having been an ICPAK council member since 2019.

Prof. Kalunda is a board member of the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (kasneb), the
state corporation responsible for developing and certifying professional qualifications in Accountancy and governance.
She is also an Associate Professor of Finance and Accounting at the United States International University-Africa
(USIU-Africa) having recently served as Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor Finance and Operations. Her career bridges
academia and corporate practice, including past roles as ICPAK's Training Manager and Head of Technical Training,
alongside early service with the Teachers Service Commission.

An advocate for youth and women Mentorship and human rights, Prof. Kalunda chairs the kasneb Foundation and is the
Board Treasurer for Amnesty International Kenya. Her governance background includes serving in the Bank of India
Local Advisory Committee, Non-Executive Director for Lofty-Corban Investments Limited. Internationally, IFAC Council
and the PAFA Board.

She holds a PhD and an MBA from the University of Nairobi, Kenya, Bachelor of Education from Moi University, Kenya
and is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Public Mediator.
