Stephen Flatman

Stephen Flatman joined the International Panel on Accountancy Education (IPAE) as a Technical Advisor in January 2-
26, having been nominated by the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants.
Mr. Flatman is Vice President, Education and Professional Qualifications – Management Accounting, at the Association
of International Certified Professional Accountants. He is responsible for CIMA's global education and qualification
system, including qualification strategy, assessment design, quality assurance, assessment security, regulatory
compliance, and the delivery of professional examinations worldwide. He has more than 20 years of experience in
professional education, qualification development, programme management, and business transformation, and has led
major reforms to the CGMA Professional Qualification to ensure it remains relevant in a rapidly changing business and
technology environment.
Throughout his career, Mr. Flatman has worked closely with boards, committees, regulators, employers, and academic
partners on matters relating to professional standards, qualification integrity, assessment innovation, and the future of
accountancy education. He is a regular speaker and contributor on topics including professional learning, artificial
intelligence, future skills, and finance talent development.
Mr. Flatman holds a Master of Arts in Education (Education Leadership) with Distinction from the University of Exeter.
