
Johnson Kong

Johnson Kong was appointed as a Member of the Small and Medium Practices Advisory Group in November 2017. He was nominated by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants ("HKICPA"). He is the Deputy Chair of the SMPAG and also chairs the SMP Business Support Task Force.
Mr. Kong has over 35 years of professional accounting experience and specializes in restructuring, insolvency, forensic and litigation support works. He is the Managing Director of BDO Hong Kong, a Firm which he has been with for over 30 years, and responsible for all its non-Assurance services.
He is a Past President of HKICPA, the Hong Kong Institute of Accredited Accounting Technicians and an ex-Executive Board Member of INSOL. He has also held many public appointments and, amongst others, is currently an Accounting Advisor appointed by the PRC Ministry of Finance, a Non-Executive Director of the Securities and Futures Commission and a member of the Operations Review Committee of the Independent Commission Against Corruption in Hong Kong. He is also a member of the Election Committee of the HKSAR Government, a key role of which is to elect the Hong Kong Chief Executive.
Mr. Kong qualified as a Chartered Accountant in UK and is a fellow member of HKICPA, ICAEW, and CPA Australia.
