Berry Wammes

Berry Wammes is the incoming Chair of the IFAC PAO Development Advisory Group. He became a member in January 2024. He was nominated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Netherlands (Royal NBA). 

Berry has thirty years of experience in the accountancy sector, including managerial roles at KPMG and the Netherlands Organization of Chartered Accountants (NBA). From these positions, he was responsible for policy, professional development and international cooperation, and maintained intensive relationships with stakeholders who had a major influence on the agenda of the profession. Under his leadership, the intermediary role of the professional body shifted from a facilitating to a more orchestrating one. In recent years he has worked on dialogue and reflection within and outside the sector and brought directors from different domains into conversation with each other. Berry is also active in international networks around professional development.
