Sumita Shah

Sumita joined CAPA in October 2021. She is also founder and director of her own company, established in 2020 providing consultancy services. Sumita has a diverse career: ranging from roles in the accountancy profession to mediation, mental health training and humanitarian and voluntary work. Previously, Sumita worked with ICAEW for 18+ years in senior roles with responsibilities across regulatory policy, public sector (policy, advocacy, strengthening PFM), professional standards, practice risk and public and private sector audit and assurance.
Sumita is a Chartered Accountant (ACA) with ICAEW, a Chartered Public Finance Accountant (CPFA) with CIPFA and a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (MAAT). She is a member of the International Advisory Group of Public Finance for Women, and a UNHCR Greece Communications Working Group. She is Trustee of a UK Charity and also provides pro-bono advice and support to UK grassroots organisations on accountability, governance and safeguarding. Sumita is an accredited Civil and Commercial and Workplace Mediator and a Mental Health First Aid Instructor.
